Fun Facts

When I moved to Pagosa, I was in awe of the beauty. I used to tell my friends back in California
that it was like living in a postcard. I still feel that way today. I feel beyond blessed to be able to
live in this town that has so much appeal as to draw people from around the world to come visit.
I was nervous my first winter here, not having much experience with snow, but I love this town
even more when it snows! It’s a literal winter wonderland that I can’t get enough of. Before
moving here we always had a fake Christmas Tree, but now one of our favorite family traditions
is to go out and trudge through the snow to find and cut our perfect tree each year. In the spring,
it is inspiring to watch all the new life popping up and everything is so colorful. The river swells,
and then as the water recedes the tubes come out and all the sudden it’s summer, and camping
near water is my favorite place to be! I also love hiking and exploring the many trails that
crisscross these mountains right here in our backyard, especially in the fall, when the leaves
begin to turn.
